Personal Qualities
My personal qualities include exceptional attention to detail, especially when configuring servers and open-source systems. I continuously learn new things, which allows me to stay current with the latest technology trends. I am persistent in problem-solving, which sometimes makes me somewhat stubborn when advocating for open-source software and simple solutions. Long-term, I am committed to UNIX-like operating systems such as Linux Debian and FreeBSD. I use them for both desktop systems and server environment solutions (focused on Cloud solutions). I enjoy working in the terminal/shell and use tmux for organizing remote work. SSH became my ally early on when we still used screen for long processes. My journey of discovering operating systems began with DOS/Windows 3.11 CE edition (for me, a floppy disk is not just a save icon, but we happily exchanged installation disks and cursed at “Bad sector” errors). Today, I no longer use Microsoft Windows products. My last interaction with Microsoft products was in 2007 when I was still using Windows 7. Since then, I have been using FreeBSD and Debian as my “daily driver” on personal desktop systems and server environments.
Work vs. Fun
Section titled “Work vs. Fun”In my free time, I spend time with my dog named Bučko, sometimes I also call him Buks, because as a one-year-old puppy (born December 1, 2025 in Serbia) he is sometimes a bit “clumsy/awkward”. He is descended from Russian parents and is an American Bully breed. I made a web gallery for him that is available here! bucko.smilepowered.org
Social Media
Section titled “Social Media”I am present on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, YouTube, and I also enjoy using “old school IRC” - nickname Pilotek
